"I've seen several glaciers from trains, buses and boats; but nothing compares to actually standing on one!"
-- Skip C., New York, NY

The Glacier Hike is designed for family fun and ages 6-86 (more or less). Discover glacier hiking and the natural history of the Matanuska Glacier.

This trip is a great overview and photo opportunity for the family. If you are able to spend 3 hours or so hiking at a leisurely pace, consider the Ice Fall Trek for a more complete glacier experience.

Cost: $45 per person plus Park Entry Fee,
2 person minimum.
Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours.
Minimums: Age 6 years and shoe size Children's 13.

The Ice Fall Trek is our most popular hike, featuring close-up views of crevasses, seracs and unique ice formations as well as getting up to a high point on the glacier which overlooks the ice fall.

This is sure to be an unforgettable experience.

Cost: $70 per person plus Park Entry Fee, 2 person minimum.
Traveling alone? If we can't add you to a group, you can still enjoy this trip for $100.
Duration: Approximately 3 hours.
Minimum: Age 8 years.

Midnight Sun Treks. Enjoy the Ice Fall Trek by the light of the midnight sun. These trips are available in June, July and August, and are great for photography enthusiasts.

You will marvel at the alpenglow on the ice and enjoy the sounds of the glacier as it settles in for the evening. Midnight Sun Treks leave at 6:00 pm by prior arrangement.

Same rates apply as our daily treks.

Group Interpretive Hikes are short walks designed to give your large group the opportunity to stand on a glacier, learn about the natural history of the area and get some great photos.

Your group will have a fun and entertaining walk down to the edge of the blue ice led by a knowledgeable Guide. It's a relatively easy walk, taking about an hour. We do not use any special equipment for this trip as we are hiking mainly on dirt and gravel.

Cost: $25.00 per person plus Park Entry Fee, 10 person minimum.
Length: Approximately 1 hour.
You Bring: Footwear appropriate for walking on dirt and gravel trails.
Minimum age 6 years. These trips are on a custom basis only.

Trip duration times are approximate and do not include transportation time from our Base to and from the glacier.
